AutoLane is an independent, advertising-supported website. Buying or leasing a car means comparing opaque offers under time pressure. We build transparent calculators and sourced guides so you can see monthly payments, total interest and lease costs before you sign.

What we publish

An auto loan payment calculator with amortization summary, a lease vs buy comparison, an auto refinance savings tool, an affordability sketch, and guides covering APR, money factor, residuals, dealer vs bank financing and more.

How we research

We cite the CFPB, FTC and NHTSA for consumer and safety context. We never invent APRs, dealer incentives or citation URLs. Keyword volume notes in the README come from third-party listings and are labelled as estimates. Every figure that comes from a third party is linked at the bottom of the page where it is used, and every page shows when it was last reviewed. If a carrier, retailer or organisation changes its published information, the official source wins over anything on this site.

How the tools work

All calculators run in your browser. Prices, APRs and balances you type are not sent to our servers.

How we make money

AutoLane shows advertising (Google AdSense) and does not accept payment from insurers, brokers, banks or any company in exchange for coverage in our guides. We do not sell leads, and we do not sell or recommend any specific insurance policy or financial product.

If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page. We correct factual mistakes quickly and update the “last updated” date when we do.
